Not necessarily. IDF&G gets to tell the wolf control board how to spend it's $110k contribution. They could tell it to target a specific pack for elk protection, similar to what happened in the Frank Church.

The real question is whether Idaho's budget is so robust it can afford to spend $2MM on this project? I'd rather see the money spent on education.

Very true. My experience has been that the WS guys generally don't want to use the funds for wildlife but would rather just continue to keep their fed agency hidden from view and continue as usual.

This agency is one of the least accountable of any in our gov't. Giving them $2 million is just bad fiscal policy, let alone bad wildlife policy.
