I wish somebody would do this with a gas truck.

I have a half ton now and I still contemplate, if I should have just bought a three quarter ton.
My last two trucks have been 3/4 ton but not the HD. Not even sure if GM does it anymore. Bigger engine, brakes and cooling system among other things and 8 lug wheels. mtmuley

I had a reservation for the Slate but didn't ever complete my order. The price kept creeping up to the point where the Ford Maverick just provided more value. I didn't pull the trigger on it either as I think the phev Prius is a better car for my use. I still have the truck, and my wife's rav4 gets around great, being able to commute on just electric (world's cheapest power rates) and get 60 mpg going to various kids sports things probably makes the most sense.

Or I'll throw sense out the window and buy a mid 90's Land cruiser

They may mean well, but none are doing well ...in rural NM.
No ground clearance to speak of and would have trouble on most paved roads due to lack of maintenance.
I did not read much but milage was not highlighted...again a city to the store vehicle. A half effort, again.

What happened to the F-150 model? Never saw one outside a city.
Do not understand how none have solar chargers built in.
Get rid of most of the gizmo junk, make it useful and price it to sell. Or a hybred.

Old Henry is having a fit.

Also a gas or d engine can be built to meet environmental and efficiency easily.
They just won't.
To much $ in electric gizmos instead of useful basics.

@MTLabrador I totally lied btw ended up buying a loaded pickup as with the rebates it was pretty much the same price as as the plane jane. Not gonna lie, little buyers remorse, I don’t much care for all the shit on the truck. Didn't care for the looks of the wt or custom though either eberything painted to match. Trucks look like a damn sneaker.
