How about when you forget to shut the "ringer" off.
I actually had a fawn watch me digging for my phone when "chimes" were dinging as an email alert!

I don't even like that sound when I am not hunting. My phone is set to vibrate only.

I'm with you on the vibrate only. When I first got it a few years back, learned quick there was a lot more settings than my old "flip" phone.

how do you experts determine these?

Warnings: stiffen up and freeze, tail erect, stomping. That said, if you sense the deer is aware of you, either by hearing or smelling or that sixth "something is wrong" sense, the chance of an abrupt bolt is probable. Happy Huntin'!
