Hey Shoot's Straight

As a lifelong senior Montana hunter having hunted for fifty years and experienced the decline of landowner welcome acceptance of public hunters requesting access, I can tell you that many of those who threaten withholding of access never really allowed it anyway, Many others became involved with the Block Management Program in Montana or merely chose to avoid the hassle and the intrusion of a few unethical or slob hunters who abused the access privilege.

But during the past couple of decades, there has been this kind of "spoiled brat" threat launched at the hunting public and at FWP threatening to discontinue public access to hunting state entrusted public wild game. The irony is that as theat expressed, most of those arrogant landowners never really did allow public access anyway!

I think they'll play well in Texas. After all, the Texas GOP thinks you can "pray the gay away."

Sorry for dredging this back up....but it'd play much better in Mother Texas had the honourable Mr Schweitzer included the failed community organizer in chief in his 'dar' meter disparagement.

BHR, doubt you'll get a peep about Gowdy filleting the COIC's sock puppet.

I'm sure this highly politicized theatre well get to the bottom of everything.

Rabble rabble. I didn't get a harumph out of that guy.

The House has wasted millions trying to repeal Obamacare, they've shut down solid, bipartisan legislation for 4 years and now they want us to believe they have the best interest of the country at heart when it comes to things like Benghazi (which they've turned into a fundraising scheme which is sickening) and the IRS "scandal" of holding dark money groups accountable for their actions.

Cry me a river.

Ben, the liberal banshees trilled for 8 years during Bush...each time a Clinton transgression was mentioned the chorus sang "the buck stops here". Odd the song is now 'to the victors go the spoils' and blame retroacts to the previous admin.

It's gonna take more than a river and you're smart enough to know it.

It's political theatre any way you cut it. Sorry Ken, but if there really were a scandal, we'd have been farther down this track.

I'm not excusing what the admin did. It was wrong, just as it was wrong when it was done previously.

But to think that the House and especially this incantation of the House is after anything other than political hits ignores the relationship between this president and congress.

It's red meat for the base. It's about voter turnout in mid-terms and it's about fundraising while raising the profile of a here-to-fore unknown member of congress.

It's pretty stand operating procedure in politics.

Actually billions... Cruz's shutdown-unless-Obamacare-is-gutted cost $24 billion by most estimates, more by many. If someone ought to be sued for real damages....

I thought the posturing by Gowdy was pretty obvious - he needs more practice so that he at least appears sincere. Not saying that the Ds are above posturing, or even competent at it... I guess I don't understand how someone would think he "owned" or was "filleting" the IRS dude. To me it was obvious he was an untalented actor just putting on a show. I would think I'd see it for what it was if the political parties were switched, but maybe not.

IMO, the most sop in politics is pandering to selective indignancy. It keeps the low info voters motivated and high info operatives employed.;)

Rob, a misplaced e would describe what the smug IRS liar was performing for Obama..

...fact

OK, I'm not a wordsmith; where is that "e" supposed to go? It seems a little early to call him a liar... never saw anything that would justify that, just bad acting by the interrogator. I'd say it is more likely that he was covering his own butt, not Obama's. But both of those assertions are just speculation by you and me. The IRS guy was smug, but it seemed justified by the dumb redundant questions.

I'm open to evidence but the Rs have already convicted him. At least the highers-ups are decent actors with their righteous indignation facade. (Hee hee, I said indignation. That is a big non-technical word for an engineer like me.)

..a little background Rob.

..and actually it would be an e and an a.:)

Damn you and your word games NHY... I'm a Doctor, not a etymologist :D

I can't say I follow these controversies closely, but I'm not one to put much faith in blogs I've never heard of, that paraphrase "quotes," (WTF?), that accuse based on unwarranted speculation, and do not provide references. Cripes, I don't even believe the press gets it right and that blog obviously has an agenda. In fact, I think the fact that people believe these blogs over more mainstream media (including Fox news, not commentary though) is what is causing so many of today's problems!

Do you have a reliable source that shows the timeline? Even Fox... While I can understand why he wouldn't know about the HD when asked for the emails, it does seem like a long time before he figured it out but I don't know the timeline.

For the sake of brevity and owing to laziness I invoke Lamb's Law of recognizing a political ass clown when I see, hear, or smell one. ; )

I'm pretty lazy on this issue too... I assume posturing unless proven otherwise. I hate blogs unless they tell me what I want to believe, then I just don't believe them. :D I'm still stuck wondering what the definition of is is.
