This is notice to the Hunt Talk crowd that if you are nearby and you want to do something fun on a Saturday afternoon, here's your chance. And hopefully raise a few bucks for the North American Pronghorn Foundation.

I hope it snows that day so it cancels the plans of those going spring bear hunting. This would be a better alternative.

Any time a new groups decides to put their shoulder to the wheel, I get excited.

Who would have thought, in 1937, that a few concerned bird hunters who started a waterfowl advocacy group during the height of the Dust Bowl, that would be around today with an 89 year track record of doing so much for wetlands?

Who would have thought that Dennis Anderson's writing in Minnesota newspapers in the early 1980s about the plight of pheasants would result in a group like Pheasants Forever, now combined with Quail Forever?

Who would have thought that four concerned elk hunters, a logger, a realtor, a preacher, and a salesman, would form a group that has done what the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has done since 1984?

Who would have thought that the "Gang of Seven," sitting around an Oregon campfire in 2004 would grow to be as large as BHA is today?

I give those examples, just a few of many, where hunters channeled their concerns into advocacy that has made a huge difference. I know most of the folks who are involved in the North American Pronghorn Foundation. They are the same type of concerned hunters who started the effective organizations we know today. They deserve our support.

Details below. Hope to see you there.
