Hearing Aid Use

So I searched threads and didn't find exactly anything that answers this. I do not where hearing aids. I went and got tested and they told me a hearing aid wont help since its inner ear. But I am pretty sick of not hearing. If there is any ambient noise I am done. Family at a restaurant. No chance. But what is putting me over the edge now is likely one of my favorite sounds. Turkey Gobbles. I literally watched turkeys gobble at 75yds thru binoculars and couldn't hear them because it was drizzling. The sound of the rain drowned out the gobbles. In the past I have tried walkers game ear. Well woody woodpecker sounded like he was on my head. And I had no idea which way to look when I heard a deer walking. I got to try something so my question for those with hearing aids:

1. What kind do you have?
2. Can you tune sounds in and out to hone in or everything is loud
3. Are you directionally challenged with them when you hear a noise?

I wear Signia Stilettos. They help in certain situations. In a noisy room with lots of background sounds having a conversation with someone is still a challenge. Through the app you can turn them up or down, have them directionally focus, and make a few other adjustments. The audiologist programmed them to tune out sounds like wind and road noise. It dampens them but does not remove the sound. Do they improve my quality of life for as much as I paid for them? Meh, I'm not so sure. I wish they cured tinnitus, no hope there.
