Hammering Cam

I hate to even question the purity of his intentions, but public land is having a moment- I suspect he does not want to miss out on the opportunity.

As Eisenhower warned us: beware the Conservation-Industrial Complex…
Very good. You’ve had your coffee this morning.

@BuzzH , I think they may have buried the lede in that one just a bit:

“In March, Fitzwilliams accepted the Trump Administration’s deferred resignation option — which invited federal employees to voluntarily resign while continuing to receive pay and benefits for months — and retired from the U.S. Forest Service.”

You would think that.

Congratulations on your ability to read sign, with those skills the game you hunt clearly have a huge advantage.

I’ll skip taking the bait, but I am interested to hear your thoughts on the article. What’s your takeaway from it?

Do you think he wrestled with taking the golden parachute so soon after axing those 16 probationary employees?

I was really disappointed to see Scott go. He was fantastic to work with, especially on conflicts between forest users. He was close to retiring anyway, but was considering staying on until his forest revised their 2002 forest plan.

My take, he had no choice to ax the 16 probationary employees that came from Vought.

But, the more important piece is that the current administration is trying to dismantle the land management agencies under the ridiculous excuse of saving money.

In this case that's all hogwash because the positions they cut weren't even being funded from general fund money.

But, yeah golden parachute and vera.

And another effective public lands manager bites the dust in the administration that elevates sycophancy over competence. Overall likely bad for public lands as WRNF is the front line of NF heavy use and conflict, as noted by @Oak .

Chugiak, Fairbanks, Missoula, Jackson Hole, Medicine Bow-Routt NF

telling ya, something must be wrong with a guy who decided to land himself in colorado after living in all of those places ;)
I'd take Glenwood over three of the other 4.
