Guys--

New to the forum, I've chatted with BigFin a bit on another site and was excited to find more goat fanatics here! This is my 2009 Wyoming buck, just back from the taxidermist. His 60-days are waaaaaaaay up(shot him 10/09).

He's very unique. I knew he laid out flat but the mass and prong length didnt hit me till I picked him up! He also had the fattest, widest forehead I've ever seen on a buck! Just an old bulldog.

I built the pedestal out of 100-yr old oak barnwood.

Any guesses on score? I've measured him but wanted opinions on getting him officially scored. Anyone in North Phoenix you may know of?

Thanks in advance!

Very, very cool. Gotta love the entire thing, goat, his character, and the story behind the pedestal. I am guessing with the lower mass and good prongs, he is going to net over 80", and maybe even 82". Hard to tell the length.

Let us know, when you have the numbers.

Big Fin--

I wish I would've known about the site a long time ago! What did the big NM muzzleloader dinosaur you shot end up netting?

He ended up at 85 2/8 net and 86 3/8 gross. Like you, I waited a longer than the 60 days before the measurement and was not experienced in how to keep antelope from shrinking as much as they do. I suspect one with the heavy bases of yours probably shrunk a lot, as that is mostly tissue and fat under those bases, and it shrinks.

Nice buck! I'd guess he nets 80-81.

Man, do they. My buck's bases last year went from 7 5/8 to 7 even in 60 days.

It's a damn nice one for sure, but I wouldn't guess without better pictures, front view of the horn, not the head, and a side view of the horn. I'd guess somewhere between 79 and 86..

Well he ended up grossing 81 and change and netting 79. Can't say I wasn't disappointed but he's still a great trophy.

I waited almost a year to score him--I wonder how much he atually shrunk?

Thanks for all of the compliments.

Thats a great trophy and an awsome addition to your home. I love the mount and pedestal. You cant put a number on that. Congrats.
