Good morning folks. Well, last night at the RMEF chapter banquet I got lucky and picked up the Rem 700sps 30-06 in the progressive raffle. Anyone shooting this one and what did you mount on top of it? I'm pretty certain I'll end up keeping it because, well, why not.

I'd put a good 3-9x40 on it, then find what it likes. You a handloader? mtmuley

Hard to go wrong with a model 700 of any kind. The 30-06 can do it all from coyotes to bull elk. Just put some good glass on it and you're good to go.

No, not a handloader, and been an '06 guy for a while. Anyhow, had to run to Erie this morning so I stopped by Field and Stream, pretty sure I'm gonna go with the Vortex on this one. I liked the clarity and so did my daughter and she's the one who will probably do most of the shooting with it. She'll probably use it for Colorado next year.
