37 today it was a tougher day. Momma caught a nice large mouth. We released it. Mostly males so the spawn should be any day. My daughter hung out with grandma today. The fish fry will be coming. It was deer tacos and some morels we needed to cook up tonight for dinner

Momma and I got our limit this morning. That pack feels good loaded with fish for the hike out.

I miss crappies... I used to find alot of them when I was a kid. Now it seems they've become scarce in those same waterbodies. They're cool fish.

We wait for the spawn every year. They catch a lot in the fall here too out of a boat. I love catching and eating them. My grandpa and grandma taught me about crappie fishing and I really enjoy passing it on to my kids.

The kids said they wanted to go get a mess too. So I went and got some minnows and I packed them in. We had a blast watching bobbers this afternoon. Heck I had more fun not fishing just helping and coaching them. My daughter had the big fish of the day and they both took a limit too.

Well we drew a limited youth hunt trying to my boy his first turkey. We didn’t get it done. No where to go around here. We thought about going to Nebraska but they closed off non residents. So crappie will have to take the turkeys place

Scrappy thank you. We want to get a boat but with our HOA it is a pain can't be outside at all. We will end up with one sometime. Super slow today cold front and storm coming in. Only caught 7 today but I did catch a big drum so I had a good fight. The kids picked up a bunch of trash around the lake and my boy pulled a huge gill net out of the lake. Looks like it had been there awhile. He also found a pretty nice gerber pocket knife I told him it was good karma for cleaning up the lake.

That’s awesome what are you catching them on we have got a few this year normally tear them up on minows but this year been doing better jigging

I’ve been throwing white jigs. 3/32 head with a crappie critter or a slider. Wife has been using blue/silver with a chartreuse tail twister tail. We have switched to 1/16 jig just let it fall a little more before the retrieve We have used a few minnows but have probably only caught 20 or so with them.
