Geriatrics on HT , am I part of the problem?

Reagan shooting, kneeling in hallway for atomic bomb practice, shuttle explosion and stock market crash. All the generations are drinking less and Gen X is up 36% in alcohol consumption! I wonder why.
Arent you a millenial - not gen x, right?

Thought born 1981-96 made you that.

It's because we've had to shift from LP's to cassettes to CD's to streaming.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Space shuttles on fire off the shoulder of Florida. I watched the internet glitter to life in the dark chatrooms of the intranet with a 28K baud modem. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."

Age is relative. I'm 65 and last week a guy thought I was early 50s. OK, fine. My body may have slowed down but my mind still says "go"! It's nice out. Time to put some more miles on the Harley.

No 8 tracks? I've got Paranoid on all of those.

I think my parents got traumatized from investing in a Home Stereo with only an 8 track player and never invested in audio equipment ever again.

With a Father in his 80's I've noticed his gait becoming more shuffling. There is a long pause before he responds to my questions. Whether it is hearing loss and processing what he think he heard or just time for his mind to process it, I don't know.... My 79 year old mother has become more demanding in her tone, and unwilling to consider thngs outside her comfort zone like foods, and clothing choices.

Us Gen X'ers are going to be doing in our 70's what our parents were doing in their 50's. We are going to have most of our original teeth when we die, but less than half of our original joints. And at some point there is going to be a glut of 5 bedroom , 4000sq ft houses on the market for $1.5 million plus when all the buyers are going to be childless unmarried couples with 2 dogs.
