Forest service wilderness maps

Ordered a FS wilderness map 1:24000 scale on plastic. Figured it would be nice to have a plastic map, no real description of how what level of detail the maps go in to. For those that use them what do you think, may they have more information others dont? Are they pretty dated? Are they like a trifold pamphlet or a square map?
