Couple of pics of a beautiful lion we caught yesterday. Turned out to be a big female that either had kittens or was about to, so we let her go.

Great colours to that cat! Would have been a good way to spend a winters day chasing dogs in the snow after cats.

Sytes, this pic might make it a bit more clear. The first pics show how difficult it is to tell without a positive id of seeing the scrotum or vulva of a lion in the tree. I was POSITIVE this was a mature tom when I first walked to the tree and started taking pictures. Sure glad we didn't shoot when we first got there. I think this is the biggest female I've ever seen.
