Broke My Cabelas Grinder

The bearing puller tools available at the auto parts store are not ideal for this small of appliance, however, I was able to get the worn-out bearing off and install a new one. Got it put back together and it runs! (still loud, like when it was new, but not making the really loud rattling/clacking sound).

A couple things I learned, in case I or someone else looks back at this thread to help troubleshoot:
  1. Find the right bearing puller (automotive ones are too big to fit in the tight spaces).
  2. Try to find a fiber gasket instead of using a caulk-like gasket maker. Something like this: https://www.govets.com/garlock-226-...k3-4QTZqb478Dhilx8wDKb4epXXQbqzDMEPVV5caMdPkU

Good job! That's going a lot farther than most of us would. I replaced mine because the end of the auger shaft snapped and I couldn't get a correct replacement.

FYI I know a man that has a wild game processing facility in OK. He used the big Cabelas commercial dehydrator to do jerky. One day it went out so he went to Cabelas to get another. He told the clerk how good the dehydrator was and how long it lasted. She told him next time bring it back and they will replace it if it bears the Cabelas name on it. They say they will replace stuff with their name on it. Don’t know if that helps or not. I have a Meat brand grinder that messed up and they replaced it for me no charge. I appreciate great companies with excellent warranties!!
