I do not know what he thinks, but I think this is not good news for the Vikings. Not at all, unless the deal was crippling in some way with respect to draft picks, or something like that, down the road.

Kenny Clark was a very disruptive interior lineman...that will hurt the pack...as well as giving up the two high draft picks but that will come later.

We will see but given Parsons history and age and the lack of strong edge rushing recently for the pack I think it will prove good.

Overreach I know but reminds me of what the vikings gave up for Jared Allen....that worked out pretty well.

Thankfully the Vikings have one of the better tackle tandems in the league.

Also, please stop looking at sacks as the end all, be all. It’s like ERA for pitchers. It gives a glimpse, but never paints the whole picture.

Can he be better stopping the run, yes. But, he’s such an elite pass rusher, and so versatile in where he can line up and play from, he makes up for it. Also, no one cares because it’s not sacks, but he drops into coverage a ton and by all metrics he grades out fantastically in coverage. That allows the defense to disguise and line him up in a pass rush set and have him drop and cover. TE or flat or a middle short zone and potentially allows other free rushers.
Three time first team all pro in his first four seasons is no joke. Look up the list of guys that have done that.
Playing in Dallas has him more well known than some, but his play on the field speaks for itself.

Also, he had a high ankle sprain last year. That’s it. He hasn’t missed time other than that.

I was trying to think however what that list looks like. I guess you have to first define it and since we are talking about generations I think that means that you couldnt really have two at the same time unless two people of that level of talent happened to be playing in the same era.

There is no doubt that the last former generational talent would have to be Tom Brady right?

Before that Jerry Rice. And before him Walter Payton. Before that, Jim Brown. That covers the 60s to today with each player holding that title for around 15 years or so.

Patrick Mahomes is probably the one for our current time.

There are obviously a lot of players that were amazing between those four but if you expand the list, we aren't talking generational anymore. Joe Montana, Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White, Barry Sanders, Butkis all come to mind.

I, again, agree that his play says very good to almost great. Generational? What does that mean? I would interpret it meaning that his play defines a generation. That’s a big nope.

I hate the Rams, but I have to admit Aaron Donald was generational. He was a freaking game wrecker. Can you imagine if Garrett played in Dallas?

I explained before. You’re just being silly if you think sacks are overrated in the NFL though. They’re the end all be all for rush ends, combined with pressures. He’s not getting paid for coverage.

His lack of mass and ability to set the edge on rush plays is no coincidence. He’s fast and light on his feet.

Montana has to be. He’s still widely considered the second best qb ever, with Mahomes coming on.

Deion is a douche, but he’s the best corner to ever play the game. He also made you pucker when he returned kicks.
