Football General Talk

Sounds to me like someone is jealous
Not at all. I wouldn't take him at that price when you look at big game impact (or lack thereof) and availability (or lack thereof) for the last few years.

At the end of the day, QBs are what matter in Jan/Feb. If Love lives up the the 2nd highest cap hit in the NFL this year the Pack will be a contender with or without Micah. If Love proves just another top 8-15 QB being paid like a top 3 then Micah won't be enough to help you.

Black Crows are playing a free show in the Lambeau parking lot day before the game.

I haven’t been to an actual concert in years, but I will check it out. Fun kickoff to the best time of year.

Five years ago I would have agreed. But with the way their offense is run-first structured now, I think they probably could win one with Love being 8-15 QB (Eagles just did).

Jacobs and the D would have to both have great years though.

Nice to dream. And Jalen Hurts is vastly underrated in my opinion. mtmuley

I agree, he’s good. I think probably less underrated now that he’s got a ring, but still not top 5 or 6 on most lists.

Packers will miss Kenny Clark. He was a great player and great person, the community was better with him and his family here. I hope he does well.

Think Parsons makes that defense better than keeping Clark? mtmuley

Yes. Clark had a significant drop off last year. He was injured, and got surgery on his big toe in January. If he’s back to full tilt, he will be productive again. But that’s a question mark for sure.

He’s played a ton of snaps for a guy his age (he was drafted when he was only 20) and size.

I’m actually, for once, buying jerrahs spin. He said they knew they couldn’t stop the run, which resulted in their recent playoff losses (true). Paying parsons wouldn’t change that (true). They wanted to build for the near immediate future by trading him (2 1st rd picks, true = potential immediate impact with pro bowl POTENTIAL) and they wanted an impact interior DL (meeeeeeeehhhhhhhh not sure, but the effort is there), and I also do agree when Stephen said you can scheme pressure. They didn’t have to do that with Micah, but eberflus has done a good job of that in the past (excluding his HC gig last year, but he wasn’t coordinating D)

If something has happened for 30 years straight, something like how it has snowed in Anchorage for 30 winters, you'd bet and say it is gonna happen again this year.

So why is it that Cowboys are so dumb that every year they get all hyped up and say its gonna be their year when its been 30 years now of them not winning it all?

Two firsts (both will be 32nd pick) and Kenny Clark. Very surprised that’s all it took to be honest.

Green Bay sports radio guys are going nuts.

Oh… I had heard about this last night. Losing Kenny Clark is big. I despise the Cowboys with all my heart and soul. I’m not being dramatic. I hate the Packers, but respect them. Anyone that respects the Cowbabies is a fan.

Question? Could this be a Hershel Walker light trade? I would hate that. Clark’s a stud too. Parson’s is a freak, but is inconsistent. Giving up #1’s is big, but as stated, the Packers are good. They will be more like 2nd round picks in practice. Parson’s clearly hates Jones and they will be high motivation.

Time will tell. I’d put money on it being less impactful on both teams than expected. Packer fans are dreaming of Reggie White part two. He’s not Reggie.

After reading this whole trade deal. What do people think will happen wins and losses? Honestly, I don’t think it will shift all that much. Cowboys will collapse and Packers will continue to be mediocre.

Parson’s is not a “generational player,” as mentioned. Most people will not remember him in 20 years. He’s no LT, or even Derrick Thomas and many here may say, “Derrick who?”

He’s not even the best OLB/DE in the game. Watt and Crosby are significantly better, and Parson’s can’t hold Garrett’s jock strap. You could argue he’s not even top 5. Hendrickson is more productive and Bosa is every bit the player. The dude is Garrett. He is a a legit freak, and has done it on a garbage team. We all know he’ll rip your helmet off and beat you to death. He’s the biggest, most talented, and a dawg. No, I am not a Browns fan.

I thought of a good question to do with this trade. Is this a reverse Charles Haley move? Who’s is/was better? Haley or Parson’s. I say Haley. He was more impactful, reliable, and a bit crazy. We all know this is something I value. In football it matters.
