Flying skulls

I have tried all manner of things to fly a cleaned skull home and not get the nose broken. Added a step to my normal process this time and got sons elk from MT to KY in one piece. My normal mechanism is pool noodles over points and then a ton of bubble wrap and plastic wrap (the moving kind they sell on a big roll). This time I added cardboard box broken down so I could roll it around so the structural strength essentially made a tube that hit the bottom of the antlers. I then left some space and closed the tube around the nose…it worked. I also added a set of turkey decoys between the antlers prior to flying. Checked with normal bag allowance no additional fees.
