I got lucky my first spring eligible to hunt bear in Montana. Finally a few nice days in SW Montana, so we took off after work to a nearby NF. After climbing a steep ridge on our way to a glassing spot and running into a few other hunters, who said there were a few more ahead of us, we figured our evening was shot so we decided to shed hunt the south facing slope down. Shortly after sunset I was snapping some photos of some deer when I turned around to see where Zach was, and there she was working her way up from the bottom of the ravine...Not real big but a beautiful cinnamon coat.

It really was a beauty of a color on the hide and it was a fun hunt too. CabinFever and I had switched from looking for bears to looking for sheds because of seeing plenty of other people in our area, then out of trees here came this bear. Fun hunt and a great memory. Nice job Mark!

Good job on the bear. What's the old saying " better to be lucky than good".

Would love a color phase that would be the last bear I would do a rug or 3/4 mount, don't have one of those YET!

Well done! Sorry I didn't have more time to get details yesterday when I was in will get more details from you on Tuesday.

Gorgeous bruin!
