I hate February. There is only so much you can do refinishing gun stocks and repairing gear before the boredom really sets in.

We loaded up the Dodge Ram and headed for steelhead water. Unfortunately, we timed our trip with the onset of rapidly rising water levels.

First hookup of the trip. About a 7 pound native fish.

First keeper.

Second keeper, and only fish of the day on day 2.

Streamside cooler.

The most exciting part of day 3. Stream flows doubled and the fish went on lockdown.

I discovered the patch job attempt on my waders failed miserably and I was wringing my socks out at the end of each day. I'll be sporting a new pair of Simms on my next trip.

Excellent, I am sure even that third day was very therapeutic

"According to the American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA), recreational therapy or Therapeutic Recreation (TR) is a treatment service designed to restore, remediate and rehabilitate a person's level of functioning and independence in life activities, to promote health and wellness......"

I think you nailed it !

Very nice! Since it took my 3 trips to finally land a steelhead, I thought they were almost a mythical creature... ;)
