Extreme hunter pressure MT R3

I think its been 8 years since I last killed a big game animal NOT in R3.
The quality has tanked. But its doable.
I stopped getting worked up over things a little, which helps.🤣
You mean you stopped getting worked up over big things?

Region 3 hunting has been great. It’s made any out of state tag I’ve had the privilege of hunting feel like I’m hunting a private ranch. Great region to learn how to hunt in, cause you’ll burn some serious boot rubber trying to figure it out.

I couldn’t find a parking spot at Costco yesterday. Half the parking lot was full out of county MT plates. I’m sick and tired of all the non-locals driving in for our groceries and adding to the road congestion.

@Frequently Banned Troll, thanks for spilling the beans on my #1 opening morning spot. I’m still going to hunt it but I will probably get there early to beat the crowds. Do you think 9 AM is early enough? The Rise and Shine Cafe doesn’t open until 7:30 and I will need to grab a breakfast burrito on my way out to hunt.

The burritos were better back when they only had one employee that wasn’t family. Now it’s a toss up if a spicy pig is worth missing the morning fly off.

Since all of you residents are already there maybe you should set up a hunttalk camp? Maybe car pooling would cut down on the traffic?

I am going to say a special prayer tonight for all of you guys hunting R3. mtmuley
I like to be specific with my requests...I'd be alright with one in the 330+ range with some dark antlers and good mass...

Yesterday afternoon I saw way more antelope in R3 than 2 previous days in R7. Too bad the permits are so hard to come by. We signed into two type-1 BMAs saw zero people and both places had gobs of antelope. Did not do any analysis other number of slips signed at the sign in boxes. Not much on the public land as the animals are grouping up into large herds and more focused on the ag areas. Norris road had some activity though - I think @shrapnel was signing autographs.

Is that the Dutton Ranch? That reminds me of the scene from one of the first episodes when the biker gang cut the fence and was camping on the Yellowstone. Or maybe it’s the hippies setting up camp protesting the cruel treatment of the cattle?
