Extreme Downsizing of Dept. of Interior. Hits just keep on coming.

There you go again ... with that lingo. Who the heck is "they"?! Who the heck is "them"?! Your brush seems to broadly smear the gubment hatred again. 'Just saying.
Government is supposed to be ran by the people FOR the People. Last time I checked they want to take away Your hunting and fishing rights. How do outdoorsman support the change in the left ideology. Didn’t used to be that way. How anyway can say government hasn’t be one to big is beyond me.

Again ... who, specifically, is THEY?

Private-contractors attached to the government outnumber government employees almost 2:1. Over the years, consolidation across all industries has resulted in less competition on bids and an increase in the number of no-bid contracts. I wish the average American would care about that as much as they bemoan the mid-level government worker they dealt with that didn't meet their service expectations.

You're going to have to provide some convincing evidence that the 430ish agencies you're complaining exist, are working to take my hunting and fishing rights.

As to the number of agencies, frankly its shocking there are that few considering the complexities of running a nation, and in our case trying to meddle in and run the complexities of about every other nation on earth as well.

When you chirp about not having the need for gov agencies, that tells me you're more than comfortable with things running with no over-sight, or over-sight provided via the fox, literally, guarding the hen house. I think there's plenty of evidence of how things "work" out there in the real world, including in our not-so-distant past, when government oversight shrinks or fails to exist.

Don't take that to mean government should not run efficiently as possible, you'll get no grievance by me on that, but what you're suggesting is not about efficiency. It's about a free-for-all, and I disagree with that entirely.

BTW, in your argument that the .gov and its agencies are trying to take away your hunting and fishing rights, and are to be ran for the people, by the people. You do realize that hunters and fishermen are a very small minority of "the people", right? I would argue hunters and fishermen are getting outsized .gov representation and benefit "by the people".

Just sayin'...

Oh ok. Let me guess you also think we stole the land and should give it back.

Happy Easter all. More important than all this derailing posts.
I think what I said was pretty clear, if you make the assertion that the .gov and its 430ish agencies are taking away your hunting and fishing rights, I'm going to need some damn convincing evidence of that.

You made the assertion as fact, I'm asking you to prove it.

That ain't near as big of a problem as wolves being reintroduced to take away our guns Buzz. 😉 mtmuley

Cut all the waste then you can truly see what is needed. Way to many federal employees. Government needs to be smaller not larger.
It feels like we're seeing what parts we can cut from the plane, while we're flying it...

And to continue the metaphor... the airline fully understands the risk, but the inevitable crash will be really profitable.

We’re running it like a business all right, and have been setting the stage for this since Citizens United. The billionaires know the game, and are getting some huge returns on their election investments.

Agreed!! It cannot be stressed enough how harmful the Citizens United decision has been to our democracy and country. The Citizens United decision has allowed the obscenely wealthy to buy our government and therefore eventually take whatever they want-like our public lands. The Citizens United decision needs to be overturned or an amendment to the constitution stating that corporations cannot fund political campaigns-billions in global corporate money sent to fund the campaigns of greedy US POLITICIANS who are supposed to represent us is not free speech…It is how corporations are reducing the American population to slaves. If you are unhappy with our bought and paid for politicians that divide to conquer and seem to only serve the rich don’t blame your neighbor who may vote differently than you, BLAME the Citizens United decision! It has captured and corrupted capitalism and is selling off everything good about our country. Nothing will get better until the Citizens United decision is gone. Support and vote for the candidates that are refusing to take money from corporations!

I take it then that you reject the concept of taxation without representation.
