Ever regret the unit/tag you picked & drew?

Yes, twice. Not that I didn’t enjoy the experience as a whole.
Both were self-guided elk hunts. Hind sight being 20/20 I would have done something different with the 10 points I used on each.
Weather played a role on both at opposite ends of the weather spectrum.

I've never regretted a tag I actually managed to hunt.

I've regretted every tag I purchased/drew that I didn't get to hunt though...

As i am here starting to plan my first Western hunt I am very worried about this. Just starting to plan a Wyoming Antelope hunt.

pick a unit with lots of tags AND lots of BLM land, don’t go opening week, give yourself 5 days to
hunt, which should be overly generous, and you won’t have reason for regrets
