I'm not going to post my best elk, because I should have killed one way bigger. As I drew on my OIL bull he turned and looked at me, 42 yards. My best guess is he jumped the string, he definitely dropped his body either before the arrow got there or because I hit him near his backbone. After dropping and lunging forward he ran off like nothing happened. He ran out into a meadow and stood there about a minute, no arrow or wound visible but he was turned the wrong way. I eventually found the arrow with the first 4" broke off (see top arrow in picture on log). That one still burns. I had bowhunted hundreds of days and finally got my chance at a huge bull, and I blew it.

There's a reason I didn't post in the whitetail thread. It happens.

Is there a write up or anything on here with some details on the recurve bull?

I think stories of big animals and Pat Sinclair are just variations of the following plot line.

1. Big animals exists.
2. Big animal is spotted by Pat.
3. Pat hunts big animal.
4. Big animal dies.

Details, location, etc… may vary.

If Chuck Norris were a hunter he would know only as much as Pat has forgotten…😏

Pat put camo on for that recurve bull. That poor elk never stood a chance
