Early Christmas present

Last Wednesday I decided to take the boys out to give them a shot at filling their fall turkey tags as they never had a shot during our annual fall turkey safari.

It took us about 3 hours of walking over hill and dale coupled with more then a bit of sneaking around and past numerous deer & pheasants, and even a coyote that was well within shotgun range but being sneaky paid off.

The long haul back to the pickup which was a solid mile and all uphill.

Note: the first picture was lightened up to show the details, the second one is what it was the conditions were actually like.

Looks like a good time Bwana, and good timing to get those birds before the weather turned even worse in your part of the country.

Great birds and great pictures! Man your boys certainly know how to put the hurt to the gobblers. Great job. Unfortunately for the gobblers they will only get a short break before the boys are back at it in April. Congratulations to the crew!
