Dogs are Hunting Partners - Let's see 'em

Package deal, they came with the girlfriend. I'll admit they have grown on me and the black one will flush/chase rabbits. They also enjoy treeing cats.

Nittany is true loyal partner in the woods. Can't imagine exploring without her. And she knows the best spot in a wall tent.

The old man was one of the best bird dogs I've ever seen. He used to catch quail and bring them to the house with only a little slobber on them, never harmed.

Scarey , that old dog is adorable.

I have went from Aeridales to rat terriors.

Never had a dog that was not loving. I damn well loved them.

I have had feral cats that deliver baby cottontails to the front door completely unharmed, but terrified.

This thread is awesome, I love looking at all the pups! Here is my loyal friend/son Gunner. He helped fill the gap while the wife and I were trying to get pregnant. Years and years of infertility were super difficult, but during that time he was my outdoor boy! Now we have adopted a baby girl, but he continues to accompany me on boys trips;)
Attached is a photo of him and I in a Field and Stream Magazine...pretty cool stuff

We've had Daisy since August. She doesn't do any hunting with me, but she does a great bit of scouting. I'm also working with her on blood trailing, which she has a great nose for. I'd love to let her get after squirrels but she isn't disciplined enough. We got her from the shelter so I didn't get to train her as a puppy, which means I don't trust her off leash. She's also stubborn as a mule which means training takes a long time. Plott hound/lab mix and full of energy.

Lincoln is a 2.5 year old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. He's not a hunting dog but goes everywhere with me that I can take him.

This is my beagle mix, Gus.

I got him from a shelter on the east coast before I moved to CO. As far as I can tell, someone had tried to bring him up to run rabbits, but he didn't do well with his previous owner. When we got him he would hide from all men and tremble, we think he was severely abused. He was found in the middle of the woods in WV abandoned. He's doing much, much better now and loves hiking. He is spoiled rotten.

I may pick up rabbit hunting for him. He sure loves to give them hell. He's normally content with sleeping on the sofa all day, but if we're on a walk and a rabbit or squirrel is nearby it's like a switch in him gets flipped.

Here are a few pictures of my new yellow lab, Huckleberry (Huck). Hes about 7 months old in these pictures. I hunted him a ton this past fall. His finally tally for the season was 74 roosters delivered to hand. I expect lots of good things to come from this little guy.

The last picture is of the entire crew of past, present, and future hunting buddies.
