It has been a while since I've made an appearance on HT. Between class, sleeping, homework, and everything else I have going on right now, I haven't had much free time. I figured some of the guys on here would get a kick out of this though.

The deer here are pretty much domesticated. Here's a picture of one outside of the apartment where one of my friends is living.

When people gave directions to our Fraternity house in the fall, it usually involved the words "And there will be a dead deer, elk or bear hanging in the back"

The Health inspector had a coronary when he opened up the Kitchen chest freezer and found wild game and deer capes in it. Then we had to get lockers at the meat plant.

Hope you can make time for a few hunts. Are you at Cornell or MSU?

Somehow I don't think they would like me processing the deer on campus property, no matter how much I might want to eat meat.

That's hilarious. I'm at Cornell and I think something like that would frowned upon here. No hunting this year or probably next, but after that I'll have lots and lots of points built up. :)

Whatcha Studying there? We have a local girl headed there next year for an ag degree. if oyu need a local contact who is out in the country, There is a dairy nutritional consultant in Dryden who might know of some farms to go knock on doors. He grew up here, and I know his folks well. If you want his name I'd be happy to pm it to you.

Good luck in your studies. I Know how hard it is when you are burning the midnight oil and think "hmmm, right now I could be headed out to my morning glassing spot in time to catch a buck headed back to his bed.."

I'm doing Electrical and Computer Engineering. I know a few people in the Ag school so if she wants to get introduced to some upperclassmen, I'd be more than happy to show her around.

I just don't have time while I'm here to go hunting. They let us hunt on Cornell property, so I'd probably just go there, but besides not having time, I don't have the equipment or a place to store the meat. Thanks a lot for the offer though!
