Whats with E bikes in whitetail hunting?

Whitetail hunters take the cake. My neighbors ride their atvs right to their deer stands and then climb on up. Like right up to them.

I bet if i had some camo maxi pads made up and slapped it on my forehead and claimed they captured scent when you sweat i could sell them.

You might be missing a big opportunity here. Lots of places to put a camo maxi pad. mtmuley

Have a buddy who built one for his disabled brother - drives the atv up a ramp to a platform beside the blind so there’s no climbing.

As an avid cyclist and mountain biker I kind of smirk at those olive drab bikes with no name components that will be trash in a few years. Walmart bikes with an electric motor.
I remember Quite Cat scooters that were popular a few years ago. I havent seen one in a bit. All I've seen is e-bikes now.

Im thinking I can rebrand hoover boards for hunting. There lower profile and stealthy.

E-bikes have watts, not cc’s. 😉 And those limits (25mph, 750W and must be pedal assist) only apply on non-motorized trails that specifically allow class 1 e-bikes. If it’s a motorized trail, then they don’t apply.
Watts, not cc’s. Shoot! 😂 I don’t know of any public ground in Iowa that allows motorized vehicles beyond the gait.

Camo Dude Wipes would sell. By the way, I like them. mtmuley
I bought some dude wipes for the first time this summer. I always used scent free baby wipes before, because we always had a surplus around the house. I was disappointed in the dude wipes. I’m going to stick with baby wipes.

P.s. I’m sure you know this, but don’t flush those, even if they say flushable.

Every time you step, there’s a puff of air coming out of the boots. That contains scent particles that settle on the ground. There’s much less of that happening on a bike.

The advantage of an e-bike is that you aren’t sweating up a storm from the 100 yard walk in Arctic expedition gear to a tree stand.

But the amount of work that people try to avoid in hunting eastern whitetail is just astounding. And the amount of money spent to do it, too.
Maybe western whitetail are a little slower than their midwestern counterparts.

I’ve checked a camera and multiple times within the hour I’ve had deer, elk, bears and mountain lion walking my path, feeding, hanging out, totally unaffected by my scent.

It's mostly due to the eastern hunters being bundled up like they're going on an arctic expedition so they can tolerate sitting in a stationary position (kept warm only by their clothing and Little Debbie intake), but the walk in causes them to sweat like a politician on the witness stand.

Sweat is a huge part of scent. I've repeatedly watched whitetails strolling along without a care in the world only to lose their mind and bolt when crossing where a hunter recently walked (and not getting wind of the actual hunter). Does it happen every time? No. Does it happen enough to make me think it matters? Damn right, I do.

Carry the extra clothes on your backpack.

Definitely, been a best practice for decades. But my socks and ass crack are sweaty from sitting on the keyboard so perspiration is happening to some degree regardless.

yeah, getting a picture after you were just somewhere doesn't mean it doesn't leave an impact. A lot of times they are trying to figure out what just happened if it's scent that is not "live" like they are not smelling the actual human but where a person was. Can alter how they approach or use that area in the daylight going forward. I've watched does catch my ground scent and take a turn to follow it all the way to my stand so they could start blowing at me and making a scene. They can do that because they dont get shot. Never seen a buck do such a thing.
