I had a miss this weekend on a nice doe. I checked out everything and I was right on.

Still sick from the flu so stayed home and did a walk about the fence line. 5 minutes max. I saw a couple small ones in the field and got close enough for a shot. Heard the thunk and they was off. Waited a hour and went back

Yes it is small and a button buck. I needed the confidence booster and it worked. I had never tagged a deer in September so I am pretty pleased by it. I did wipe the milk off the lips and used spray paint to get rid of the spots.

State never got back with the landowner yet.

Oldest son is giving me so much chit right now for killing a small one. Said our pit bull is bigger. I told him Mom would not let me shoot it so it was either this or one of the chickens.

That is somehow the exit at the right rear legs. I believe that it deviated as it hit the ribs and came out all the way there.
