The local herd began with 112 elk from Colorado and Nebraska, relocated between 1981-85.

I had no idea it was that long ago.

Not good as I have high hopes for our Missouri herd.

They are trying to figure out how it got here. I figured it came from Missouri deer but who knows. Very sad but the AGFC knew it would happen some day. They are planning on culling 40-60 elk and 250 deer in that area and to get an idea of the extent.
Local redneck logic is to blame the elk that were brought here 30 years ago.
