I usually wear 10.5. I went with 11 in the guide insulated. 10.5 was too small.

I wear a 10.5-11 in everything but a 10 Crispi fits me

From my reading. It seems like you can't just say crispi fit true to size or not. It seems to vary by model.
If @marksjeep @brockel and @Backofbeyond wouldn't mind giving you the model of boot it might help you know if it applies. Also using the European sizes seems to get guys closer.
Obviously I have skin on the game so I hesitate but.
My opinion is that the guides were true to size on me. I normally wear an 11 and I went in to the store and tried on a bunch of boots before trying these on in 10.5, 11 and 11.5. I bought the 11.
I really thought they would work. Then my heal decided otherwise.
For refinance I am wearing a 11 in Morrell's right now the length is correct but the heal is sloppy. also Solomon quest 4d in size 11 fit me perfectly.

My 11.5 are the Idaho model. I usually stay pretty true to a 12 narrow in most things, and also have a hard time keeping my skinny heels locked down. I ended up screwing around with the lacing pattern a bit to find something that works.
