Official.
My wife and I were selected for Addicted to the Outdoors Couples Season 4.
We will be filmed on our 2016 CO OTC Elk Hunt. Leaving Wednesday.
We will hunt out of drop camp we have hunted past couple seasons. Unguided.

Recieved our new Mathews Halon 6's.
Got them set up quick and tuned in. Awesome bows.

Hopefully we will have some success, but for my wife and I it is always highlight of our year to be in Colorado High country in September and get to share it together.

My wife also has a bear tag in her pocket, so hope to encounter bears from last year.

We called 5x5 in to 40 yds this morning. Could not get a shot.
Needed 2 more steps to be clear of tree limbs.

Good start

Well just returned from our Colorado hunt.
It was a busted for us.
Only heard 1 bull on mountain in 7 days.
Obviously not good while being filmed. We tried our best.
Elk just were not there this year like past 3 yrs.
We put on miles and lots of elevation just looking for sign but never found where they moved to.

We did have crazy encounter with huge mountain lion come into our set up from 70 yds.
I yelled to scare it away as I saw it headed towards my wife location.
Turns out she couldn't move until it ran, as it was 25 yds from her.

Intense moment.

Bummer. I wonder what happened to the elk. Maybe that lion pushed them out. Was the weather any different than last year.

We normally hunt last couples years week before muzzleloader season.

I think muzzleloader hunters with horses were in our drainage after finding signs of horses and think full moon last week did not help us out.
