Changes to the Forum Changes

I got on yesterday morning to drink my coffee and read some HuntTalk before I water the chickens and all that good stuff. I see we’re ditching the reactions and read some of the arguments but suddenly I couldn’t be subtlety engaged without actually commenting— Could no longer be the guy in the corner chuckling as he eavesdropped the conversation…

shoot. I don’t like this…

Get on this afternoon and Hallelujah it’s been restored!! Thank you whiny Karens! I was prepared to live with it but thanks to you folks, we can have anything we want if it hurts our feelings enough 😊😊😊

Glad its back. I want an easy way to to tell someone I like their post without writing a message. I am mostly on forum on my phone so sometimes typing is a pain. Sometimes a like allows me to just to do that without some personal diatribe. ( some of course cannot be avoided) ( working on it)

Well, when I had our tech guys remove the like button yesterday, I surely didn't expect 200+ comments. I read some of the reasons why people want that button, so it is restored.

I still have my list of ideas about how discussions on this forum more useful, less distracting, and less of what at times seems like sixth-grade playground BS.

Some seem to think that the change I made yesterday was driven by folks hitting the moderation report button. Nope. It had no influence. In fact, yesterday's moderation log only had one reported item. The blocked spammer log was a couple pages long.

I appreciate folks expressing their thoughts on how they interact here. I sometimes use the like button, but try to add a comment if I feel it is worthwhile. Obviously, I am in the minority, at least among those who commented.

I'm the final decision maker on this forum. Like all of my decisions, any time I make a decision it comes with a reservation to change my mind in light of more information.

So, the like/dislike button is back. The concerns about maintaining the quality of the conversation still exist.
Thanks for bringing back the like! Us introverts appreciate it, especially in the Wordle thread. I will try to contribute more substantive stuff too. We all like a good story.
