This one was aged at 4 with a "B" reliability and a range of 3-4 years.
I think he was at least 5 but could have been 6 or even 7 based on looking at his jawbone. I don't have a long history of trail camera pictures of him but I do have a few.
Here he is when I killed him. Based on the saggy skin around his neck he sure seemed like an older buck to me.
Here is his jawbone. The top one. The bottom jawbone is from another buck I killed that year that a biologist aged at 4.5 based on looking at it's jawbone. That would make me think for sure this buck is at least a couple years older than that.
