Celebrity hunters

Montana is full of them, does anyone know, besides promoting their products and selves do they do anything to help the sport?

Fin has a TV show and busts his tail to insure hunting has a future. I guess I am not sure if any of the others do the same.

Do any of them belong to the local sportsmen groups?

I have never seen any of them at a FWP commission meeting and never heard of them joining in the Legislative fun.

Ted Nugent does his part on the national level, but with all the TV shows filmed in Montana I would think some of these guys and gals would wade in and help us locals out.

I think the altruistic angle for hunting based media left the station when the commercial to action ratio went nascar.

I belong to several groups that promote hunting and fishing. We can get free stuff from the manufacturers from time to time. But try to get a celebrity hunter or fisherman to come and talk to the groups. NO WAY, they all want paid. If we charged admission, I would agree, but if its for the kids, have a heart and show up.

Like in anything I think there is good and bad. I am not keen at all on a lot of these self absorbed "hunters". I don't mind saying Mike Waddel drives me insane. His shows are far more about him then hunting ( I even question what he does is hunting) and he tries way too hard to be funny. You won't find me buying any "brotherhood" gear.

I swear that in so many of Waddel's show's he talks over and over about how "it's not all about killing an animal but it is about good friendship, enjoying the chase, blah blah blah" and yet he ALWAYS hunts with a guide. I get so sick of hearing guy's saying that on hunting show's. If it was REALLY about hunting with friends and being in the woods and enjoying nature, they wouldn't need a guide. All of that stuff is free. As the days go by, I dislike hunting show's more and more. Except of course for OYOA.

Whiskers, if thats the case, and they want big$$$ for a kids event, maybe getting ahold of their sponsors would help.
I'm done with watching 99% of the hunting shows out there.I still watch oyoa, and rmef shows, but thats about it.I'd like to see more diy style shows that anyone could do rather then unaffordable hunts/leases the rest of the shows offer
I'm another one that wouldn't waste a dime on the "brotherhood" gear.I'd rather buy some clothes from some of the sportsmans groups I belong to
Its ashame the guys making a living off hunting won't come to back up sportsmans issues unless someone offers them a paycheck for it.If I was a sponsor, I'd want my guy out there showing his face and backing up the locals;esp. if he hunts there

I guess that is my point. Is the average hunter out there battling the legislature and dealing with FWP trying to keep quality and quanity animal on the ground all the while giving the celebs something to film hunt and self promote?

We all know the good hard work Fin does does, but his he the only one with a TV show and actually cares?

I think Big Fin is alot different from the other show hosts.I'd be interested in hearing of any others donating their time.May change my point of view about them, but I doubt theres any.
