Cavity in Elk Irory

My Tule Elk was in an area with a lot of High Silica, Salt Desert plants. I figured that the grit wore through the enamel. Only have seen a few like it...

If you look at the grass it had a coating of White Gritty Salty dust.

I haven't seen a cavity that I can remember, but these were the teeth off a bull a shot way too many years ago. The ivory was worn flat to the gums.

That is an insane amount of ivories. I would have to be popping them out of road kill to accumulate that many in my life. There isn’t enough enough hit on the roads in Pennsylvania to help me get a total like that though. That’s very cool though. Nice work.
