Catch All Fishing Thread

Short three day to Sitka. Wife's BFF had rotator cuff surgery 10 days ago and couldn't hold a rod and reel. Set her up with an electric reel to land 130 pound Halibut. Emergency order closed King fishing but there were enough silvers to keep it interesting. We caught limits of halibut, Sable fish, Yellow Eye, a dozen pinks, couple of chums, two sockeye odds and ends of rock fish and a best guess of 17 Kings we had to release.
Weather was awful, long ocean swells up to 8 feet.

How deep were the Sablefish? I used to commercial fish them around 600 Fathoms! It would have been a heck of a long winch up!

No sh**. We went out 33 miles, 1500 feet deep. Feel the weight and reel up. They were willing biters, thank God the limit was four and it was too rough to go out that far the next two days.

I don't usually post while doing my cross-country traveling but I came across a lifetime top 3 blue line creek in Idaho yesterday. Tiny little creek, but boasted some seriously impressive cutthroat fishing. I was expecting small brookies and the like, but it only had both Yellowstone and Snake river cutts - and not a single dink to be found, smallest was about 10", most averaged 12" or so (every pool and run had at least 2 fish). I hauled this massive snake river cutt out of a hilariously small pool where the creek made a hard bend:

The log in the second picture was about as wide my thigh bone is long for scale. Those are 8" hemostats below the net. The thing was a beast, about 20" - I couldn't believe it was in the little creek it was in. Check out of the raptor claw marks along its back.

Annual family beach camping trip, which for me and my son is a fishing trip too. Caught limits with SIL's boyfriend one day, and my son limited in 30 min on the last morning - 10 blue rockfish. The water had been pretty rough in the kayaks, so Im glad he was able to get out for the best morning.

The day my son caught his limit, we were the first ones out on the water just after dawn. The boats and hobie boys were just heading out as we were heading back in with the limit in hand haha. He proceeded to go back to camp and ask for coffee, then went around telling stories of the fish he caught to the rest of the family. Kids a little man!

Trip ended with full limits but no lingcod for us. SIL's BF caught his first 2 lingcod so lucky for him!! The hobie pictured was just borrowed to hang fish haha. We were just paddling.

Clearly it works, but that is the ugliest rod and reel combo I've ever laid eyes on.

Respectfully. :ROFLMAO:
I’m the guy that loses stuff in the field while hunting or fishing. So I have lots of brightly colored elk calls, knives, and some fishing equipment 😂

Good start for lake wenatchee sockeye, didn't get first line down until 6am but 4 fish limit by 7:24 and lost 2. Hopefully it stays good next few days with more people in the boat. Haven't fished in a while, took a couple days to get all my gear sorted and refreshed but smooth sailing and great weather this morning.
