Catch All Fishing Thread

Finished visiting my wife who works in Alaska during the summer. I spent time with her when she wasn’t working. Still made some time for hiking and fishing. Managed to bring in some sockeyes on the fly rod. I don’t remember to take pictures often but have a few.
Excellent

Chromer, well done. I like those OKUMA reels.
I’ve been really happy with them too. Having grown up using spinning reels I don’t get why so many bait casting reels only come in right hand retrieve. I own several rh reels but never have got used to them. Love that these come in LH. For trolling the 360’s we’re using in Tidewater the line counter is very helpful too.

Me too, every one of my trolling rods now is setup with those cold water series reels from my downright rods to wire dipsy rods to the huge reels with 10 color

I kept both LH and RH reels in my boat. Folks who had never fished bait casters but had fished spinning gear preferred them. Folks from south of the Mason Dixon line wanted right hand retrieve. Tide bump I would troll spinners or boondog with spin n glows. Once the tide started to run I would back troll plugs.
With good NW fisherman my secret weapon was back bouncing small spinners, number 3 or 4 size. It’s hard to teach quickly and impossible if folks aren’t “fishy”. The line counter helped because I knew how much line they should have out on each run vs how hard the river was running.
Great drags as well.

Always wanted to try fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee, booked a trip and fished today for landlocked salmon, caught a nice rainbow and some smallmouth as well.
Been chasing trout on some of the rivers while in NH as well. Always enjoy the White Mountains in Summer time.

First time in forever chasing panfish with the fly rod.

I got into a few small bluegills and perch, but nothing of size to be found. A fiberglass 3wt makes even the little ones fighters, though.

I switched over to the UL spinning rod on the paddle back to the truck and found some decent perch in about 20' of water outside the weed edges. I need to remember to bring a fish basket next time, I caught enough of these to make for a pretty good fish fry.

Had to try about everything in the book to get a limit this morning, but ended up getting into willing participants.
Crawler harness, crankbaits, hair jigs, jig and minnow, and finally jigging rap brought them in.
Beautiful morning on the water.
