Gastro Gnome - Eat Better Wherever

Calibres you'd like to own

Lets try to keep this going for a bit longer. I have 4 Shiloh Sharps currently, 1 40-65, 2 45-70's and 1 45-2.6 aka 45-100. I think a #3 30 inch octagon barrel chambered in 50-2 1/2 aka 50-90 would be a great hunting rifle.

Also a 257 Roy and a light weight 243 ai.
I think a .50-70 would be better and make it a trapdoor (lighter).

I gave a 6.5x55 Swede in pristine condition to an old buddy of mine, and as, p_ham knows he didn't want the bolt altered for a scope. So I would like another 6.5x55 with great wood. Silly since I have a Cooper 25.06 and my wife has a .260 Remington VLS which shoots bugholes, but there you have it. I just have a soft spot for old cartridges which still perform. And kind of in memory of @Europe.

And @Dan O man, you're going full Old West.

Still sticking to what I said on the first page.

A 28 gauge sxs,
Double rifle in 45/70.

New addition

Something in 24 caliber. Something interesting.
But I’m lazy and don’t wanna firearm brass.

There's an odd thing about 8.6 blackout, and not sure how this relates to SAAMI spec, but PTG claims their 8.6 blackout reamer is SAAMI. Nothing else says SAAMI.

In the past I tried to stick to PTG reamers and Redding dies as I heard PTG supplies all the reamers for Redding. Redding has a set of 8.6 blackout dies also.

[EDIT: not sure why that links claims to be 6.5mm x 284, that page should link to the 8.6 blackout]

Who knows what PTG is up to, I mean other than selling stuff that isn't in stock, and holding onto people's money for months. Currently, 8.6blk still isn't officially SAAMI spec, but I've had mine built for a couple years. Had great results with Gorilla factory ammo, and reloading is going well with both super and subs.

6.5 PRC
.303 in a British Enfield (don't know why, I've always wanted one)
.45 acp 1911
12 gauge benelli m4
.308 m14
30-06 M1 Garand
7.92 x 57 98K mauser

As of now most of mine are pretty easily done:

10mm
.41Mag
.22 Hornet
.223AI
.257WBy, .25-06, .25-06AI or some kind of .25 wildcat, .25 WSM maybe?
.280AI
.338-06AI
.45-70

Just from this list, I must think about Ackley Improved cartridges a lot. Must be some mental condition

I don't really want a 6.5 Creed or PRC. If going 6.5 the GAP would be on the list. Or 260 AI. I think about the .30-06 AI also. mtmuley
