It is interesting to revisit these threads and see if people still have the same reactions. Does anyone else ponder why the Sec of Interior is making trips to Venezuela to promote their oil?

Sec. Burgum and the DOI have performed exactly as I hoped they would for the project I have been trying to get going for almost 15 years. I have been nothing but pleased with how he and the DOI have approached the project proposal. Analysis, findings, review, then answer. Just like NEPA was supposed to work. The 25 people I have been able to rehire have expressed a similar positive opinion.

Not surprising. Your user name doesn't scream "pragmatic conservationist". There is no doubt that this administration has been helpful to your industry (second only to Venezula's oil industry, apparently). Doesn't change that it's a shot of epinephrine to keep the heart beating in a dying body. The result is great for you, not so much for any of those 25 that are under 40. Honestly, I would probably have a similar view in your shoes. Maybe file a lawsuit claiming you were wronged over the last 15 years. This Admin is writing checks to anyone that thinks it's doing great.

You really need to update your stereotypes. Coal miners being all "rape and pillage the land" is outdated. We never needed a shot or a handout. What we needed was an Adminstration that played by the rules. We didn't get that from Biden. We have from this one. The natural evolution of the energy industry will be what it is and we will deal with that.

Rather than make ignorant comments about the benefits to our workforce, you should stop by some time and ask them yourself. You are welcome anytime. Great bunch of men and women to chat with. You might just learn something. Or not, either way let me know.
