Bitterroot Archery elk opener

I usually don't do this but....

The yellow is prime early September elk habitat. The Red circles are buffered waypoints of Bull Elk Tracking Collar locations in the last 24 hours. Dress accordingly, it's hot out there. Best of luck!

Who would have thunk? I drove right by here on my way to Zoo. The heavy smoke must have disguised the potential of the area.

Probly a steady stream of pickups with 4 wheelers in the back headed there now. mtmuley

You're going cost someone a lot of gas money and disappointment if they don't know any better. But I got a good chuckle!

Wait, that wasn't legit? Glad I hadn't left yet.

Not so much you being from Montana, you could certainly sense the sarcasm, but I'm really curious as to how many way points were set with that map as a reference.

Let's do it, not every day a soon to be Montanan gets invited to hunt with the legendary Gerald Martin and follow him into the flaming gates of elk season.

The Custer national forest between Ashland and Broadus has 6 fires burning also. One fire burned 40,000 acres in a day. Maybe you can park in front of the fire and get one when they come running out.

I was on a fire one time where this actually happened.

Bout 60 head in my yard this morning. You could have smacked one out of my basement window. mtmuley
