im sorry your reading comptehension is so poor. SFW, whom i detest and have never given a dime to, gets what the want because, to quote you, THEY SHOW UP. They do the work. THEY SUPPORT CANDIDATES. Bha, doesnt. Thats just a fact. BHA put more effort and cash into Minneaplois than slc. Another, FACT.

Malloy won her primary by 224 votes. The cost of which now equals roughly a million acres? Just to start. Whats the ROI on that?

You were bitching about your ROI on corner crossing, quit skirting the issue, and....

Don Peay, the founder of Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife (SFW), has publicly supported Mitt Romney, especially during his campaigns.
Here's why this connection is significant:
Peay's Influence: Don Peay is a well-known figure in Utah and the broader wildlife conservation community. He has been influential in rallying support for political candidates he believes will advocate for the interests of sportsmen and women.
Romney's Past Support: Peay was a strong supporter of Mitt Romney's presidential campaigns, notably in 2012. In 2012, Romney's campaign even announced a group called "Sportsmen for Romney," indicating Romney's efforts to garner the support of this constituency.

*our*, "including me"

the issue being that BHA does little if anything in Utah to prevent the elections of people it issues endless pr statements about?

What you are seeking is a 501 (C)(4) organization with established independent expenditures to do the political work you'd like to see happen. Even a (C)(4) can't openly advocate for specific candidates within that tax framework - they have to have the resulting Independent Expenditure to do so. Which I suppose BHA could do as well but then, you're still looking at significant staff time and resource commitments in the millions of dollars - all of which may be outside of the mission of the organization. You can have politicians at your event, they just can't campaign. Neither can the organization.

There's work to be done killing a bad bill. You can either spend your days squabbling about other things or get busy fighting against the bill. If you've written your Senators, then call 20 of your friends and family and help them move on this as well.

I have no idea what point there is to all of this text. A 501c3 cannot engage in political campaigns.

So they attended the expo? What is the significance of that?

Whatnot's personal issues with BHA aren't relevant or helpful right now. Let's get this thread back on track.

Mike Lee is trying to take what belongs to us all. Use the BHA link or not, but whatever you do, just contact your elected officials and tell them to vote NO on taking our public land.

Is there any truth to the rumor floating out there that if Lee struck a deal with Daines and Sheehy that if they vote for the budget which includes the land grab, Lee will keep Montana out of it?

I'm almost to the point, we should just let Mike Lee have Utah public lands and let that clown sell them all. Use it as a case study of what not to ever allow to happen anywhere else.

What do you think?
It's easy for Congressman Zinke to state at this juncture, but he's adamant about public lands staying in public hands. The votes of Senators Daines and Sheehy will be telling about their attitude regarding that issue ... regardless of the Montana exemption. IMO, that is merely a backroom, closed door deal to secure their votes for the bill.
Oh, how I wish that were not the case!

This is disgusting. I get that a senator would look out for their own state, but they have an obligation to look out for what's best for the entire country. There is a bigger picture here.

I gotta tell you I'm done. I hate the far left and what they stand for. I'm there with the far right as well. If these two cut a deal, I'm never supporting them again.

Can you imagine the pressure this could put on Montana public hunting in the future? Or what it will do to our wildlife nationally?

Honestly, do they think selling off public land solves our financial problems? Land sales are a drop in the bucket and provide a short term resolution. We don't have a revenue problem. We have an expenditure problem.

Edit: just reached out to those two asshats to voice my concern. They will lose the votes of this conservative family if they go through with this.

If anyone can't bring themselves to use the BHA link, here's another:

Personally, I think BHA's message is better, but send something...

In the usual rush to defend the favorite group in this joint, you trip on yourselves.

I use sfw in utah for a reason. They too are a 503. Same rules, same laws. No one stands up and pledges votes ot support to a single candidate. They do however filter them around, glad handing, making sure they are seen.

Before the usual child in Laramie tried sidetrackibg as usual, the point is, these mass emails, mean nothing in a state where there is no footprint. Few know who BHA is(i ask legislators who they hear from). In Utah, BHA is just that lib group from Montana. While BHA fires off press releases sfw introduces their favored folks, to their folks state wide. Its a HELL of a lot easier to beat the Malloy types in a primary, then beat her and her bills in DC.

As a resident of MT I own the public lands of Utah equally as the public lands of MT. As does a resident of Utah or Vermont or Alabama equally own the public lands of Utah or MT.

Carving out an exemption from sale for the lands I own in MT doesn’t ease the loss I will incur from the sale of the land I own in Utah.

A vote to sell my land in any state is a vote to sell my land in my state.

Sounds like you have your mandate. Form your group, get it done and prove that BHA is better suited for other things. Put up or shut up.
