Just got back from hunting elk with my brother in Arizona. We hit it hard for 13 days of getting up at 2:30am everyday and miles of big steep country, it was an awesome hunt even if he didn't fill his tag. We saw some big bulls but could not call them in close enough for a bow shot. He had several opportunities on smaller bulls but he was holding out for a big one, so he had a lot more restraint than I would have had.
We had one morning in a meadow where there were 7 or 8 bulls and several cows and the bulls were going crazy! We could hear them in the dark and as it got light it was just amazing to see them bugling at each other with steam coming from their mouths.
I got pics of some great elk country but no elk pics because I had a cow call in one hand and the rangefinder in the other. The picture with the moo cows it took because they were in someones camp eating everything off of the table and scattering the trash.
