I just found a smoking good deal on a plane ticket to the Phoenix area. I'm thinking of an April 3 day coyote hunt. Anyone in the area need a tag-along? Have guns, skinning knives, plenty of experience in IL killing coyotes, Fox-pro prairie blaster and more mouth calls than is reasonable. Looking for local help on this mission.

I have no intention of dragging coyotes back on a plane all the way to Illinois. But if someone was willing to show me around, I'd skin every one we shoot if they wanted them.

NOW you know why the plane ticket was so reasonable, but still wish you good luck. By April it is almost too hot to golf down there and that is if you are from the NW.

I will be in west Texas next week doing some aoudad and predator hunting and wont be missing this crappy weather!!

Just make sure that you get as far away from people (getting hard to do in Az) as you can. I just got back from there. My buddy and I threw every call in the books at them and did not a call one varmint in five days of hunting. It was the worst that I have ever done. I think it was the moon phase or something, but we did see lots of pretty country.

Those animals have had the snot called out of them and the warm weather in April will not do you any favors. I would wait and do it in the fall if I were you. If you insist on going in April, then I would stay to the high country away from the desert areas.

diem24, you might consider flying to Billings MT instead. Priceline 404$ round trip from Chicago. You could go up into MT or drop into WY and the coyotes would still be halfway decent in the hide dept. Probably find easier acess to hunting there to boot. Good luck

Try MN. From the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport you could drive 2 hours SE and hunt in the beautiful bluffs of SE MN. 2 hours west, farmland. 2 hours north, the forests of northern MN. Great coyote hunting and lots of variety. In the northern part you might even have a wolf or twelve come in......just saying.

That would be awesome. Is that an invite a MN coyote hunt? Thats close enough I could make that drive in 4-5 hours. I call, you shoot, we skin, you sell.

They wont be worth anything in April around here. Early April you will have the woods to yourself. Mid April on there will be turkey hunters around in a lot of the state. Northern MN has a lot of public land. I would love to take you to a couple of spots by Hinkley. You could stay at the Casino cheap. Lots of coyotes. I would join you but plan on being in NE early April chasing turkeys. I only get 2 weeks of vacation a year so I gotta make the most of it. You could shorten your drive a few hours and hunt the SE part of the state. Beautiful country. Lots of yotes. Good amount of public ground and should not have much problem with accessing private. We heard a lot of yotes howling while bow hunting. My buddy and I are heading down there in a couple of weeks to thin a few out.
