Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

But equating the two is ridiculous.

I get what you’re saying. I’m pretty close to equally outraged over something “really fng corrupt” and something “really really fng corrupt” when it comes to our elected officials, however.

At some point, sleaze is just sleaze- unit of measure stops mattering a whole lot.

Buying NVDA calls
vs.
Reynolds donating $5m to MAGA inc., executives having lunch with Trump a few days later, and within a week the FDA is ordered by RFK to reduce the review process on flavored vapes.

These don't seem different? Member of congress just don't have the same control over actions. Both may seem bad to the average person because they are cut out of the information loop, which I understand, but it seems different. And Pelosi didn't create her own meme coin and sell it to her cult members.
Buying calls? How about buying EV car companies as speaker of the house and then by her own power introduce a bill to mandate EV? That's worst IMO. Same could be said about buying solar, OSH, and others.

Or the Trump phones. At least the coins actually existed.

It's all corrupt, it's all insider trading, some of it would have got me fired as a manager in a public accounting firm. Some of it I would have ended up in jail.

There's no reason members of the legislative executive and judicial branches shouldn't be held to the same level of accountability that is within big four accounting firms.

Good: Manager level Independence criteria
Better: director criteria
Best: partner level criteria

Or you could even make it simpler, no owning of individual stocks, only major ETFs that track 100 or more holdings.

This response is more surprising to me than the actual act. The person is one vote. Introducing a bill is not the same as the bill becoming law. If you want an example to be upset about, it would be the national security meetings on COVID where they walk out of the meeting and tell the public everything is fine then go to their office and sell their stock.

POTUS can do much more as the sole person directing implementation of regulations. And there is no one to hold him accountable.

Politicans are politicians. But no one ever envisioned the potential for this level of corruption in the Oval. People can play "whataboutism" if it helps them sleep at night.

And there is no one to hold him accountable.

Yes there is- several hundred million people. But they didn’t do so, because Democrats have failed to police their own party and lost any moral or popular high ground they should have had.

Zoom out a bit and consider the position you’re defending- does that seem helpful against the orange scourge?

Republicans shouldn’t be blamed for him any more than the Democrats should be.

Really? Republican Senators had a perfect chance to remove Trump from the political scene. The impeachment after the January 6 riots, should have been proof enough, that he could not be trusted with power.

If convicted, he would be banned from seeking office.

The blame is with the American citizens. They decided that electing an obvious crook and erratic person was better than a fairly mediocre vice president.

Im not sure I’m defending anything other than there is a difference in actions, even if I don’t like either one. Like stealing a 6 pack versus stealing the entire beer delivery truck. There is no way I can wrap my mind around blaming Dems for losing moral high ground resulting in the election of the most morally corrupt individual I could image. But somehow people do it.

That is what I was saying when I said Republicans and Democrats/ voters of said parties.

Republicans voted for it- but Democrats failed to produce a viable alternative, which did not happen overnight.

I'm sorry, she was viable, maybe not highly desirable.

There was a choice, as there always is. We made the choice and are enjoying the fruits of our election.

Nah. Scoreboard don’t lie.

It was almost impossible to lose the last one, but the Dems figured out a way. And now they appear to be doubling-down on the strategy.

Normal people don’t want to be associated with that.

*Way too much political talk on a hunting website on my end, apologies.

Market RED today👎
