What a night. Go Canes. You only get to see your team win so many championships. I remember watching Rod lift the cup in my grandmas living room 20 years ago. So awesome. What a great team and season.

I was there for game 7 in 2006. Amazing experience. This one was a little different not being at home, but Caniac Nation showed up in force. Concessions people thought Vegas was scoring when were because it was so loud.

That will do it for this year. I only start watching when the playoffs are near. I know, part time sports fan. Not going to waste hunting days. Crazy trade, they gave up a lot to get him but he will do great things in Florida

With 2 Tkachuk’s, Marchand and Bennett , it’s pretty clear what style of hockey Maurice wants to play.

Yes sure was. I think they just realize that their cup window is almost over and see a chance to mayne win this year before its officially time to completely rebuild?

Gives me some comfort that the Canes have pretty much the entire roster under contract already with the exception of Freddy Andersen - who’s inability to stay healthy make him less than a critical re-sign. I’d like to see us make a play for a top tier starting goalie, but if we don’t, we have 2 who have proven they can be in a starting role. Given our defense, goaltending isn’t as critical as it is for other teams.

I think Ottawa did a good job with the return on Brady Tkachuk. Flipped one of the picks for William Eklund and a good prospect, and gained about $3M in cap space. I think they did very well given the fact that Florida knew they were the only team he'd waive his no move clause for. I don't buy the list being FL, CAR, VGK, and MN. I think it was FL or bust.
