What a night. Go Canes. You only get to see your team win so many championships. I remember watching Rod lift the cup in my grandmas living room 20 years ago. So awesome. What a great team and season.

I was there for game 7 in 2006. Amazing experience. This one was a little different not being at home, but Caniac Nation showed up in force. Concessions people thought Vegas was scoring when were because it was so loud.

That will do it for this year. I only start watching when the playoffs are near. I know, part time sports fan. Not going to waste hunting days. Hell ,by next year, I will have to think real hard about who took the cup this year. I know it wasn't the Redwings. Those days are getting older every year, they will be back some day.

Our goal differential in the 2nd period before game 5 was -8. I’ll take that 2nd period all day long. Wasn’t boring to me at all.

That was such a dumb trade on the Panthers side. Also, Larkin must be pissed now. That's one team off his 3 team list where he can't go now.

Well Florida's screwed. They now have 7 million in cap space and need to sign 7 forwards and 2 goalies........ not having a single goalie or farm system is tough

Gives me some comfort that the Canes have pretty much the entire roster under contract already with the exception of Freddy Andersen - who’s inability to stay healthy make him less than a critical re-sign. I’d like to see us make a play for a top tier starting goalie, but if we don’t, we have 2 who have proven they can be in a starting role. Given our defense, goaltending isn’t as critical as it is for other teams.
