Well here is the turkey I shot this morning. Drive 225 miles, set-up a tent in the dark, control Axl from chasing things in the night, and shoot my first MT turkey...life is good.

Well this one didn't turn out too good. Go figure when you have the sun to your back. Hopefully the other roll turns out better since I repositioned.

Not a monster bird, but they are all fun. He went 19# and 7.5" beard.

Looking at the first pic, one would think that Axl brought his master the bird...
Great going Craig.... :D :D :D

Thanks guys. I am by no means a good turkey hunter, but am trying to change it.
Now tell how you called that bird in with a dog in tow.
Axl was a little pissed since he had to stay in a kennel near the pick-up. I made it up to him and let him find the bird on his own after I let him out.
Did Axl retrieve it for you?
He gave it a shot, but even with his big melon, he was unable to move it far. :D
Got more hunting to do?
You know it. I am headed back home to South Dakota in May to try to find another gobbler. The week after that I am off to Sask. to try my luck with a bear again. Hopefully this will be my year.

After that, I will sit around the mailbox and hope some tags show up. :D

Lewiston is in Idaho ;)

HEY Miller, Kudos on the Bird man !! Look at how BigSky poses with his Birds. Take notes ...
