This was on the state run hunt on Lanai. Flew LAX to Maui and took a ferry to Lanai.
We (3) rented a 3 bed studio with kitchenette and clunker 4x4 for 9 nights for $1860 split 3 ways = $ 620 each. Because travel was during peak season, airfare was expensive LAX- Maui = $729. All total ( air, lodging, gas, ferry, lic, food, baggage fees, airport parking) I spent a grand total of $ 2142
I killed a ewe, a ram and an axis doe. Should've killed more than a couple bucks but I muffed the shots.
I've done this hunt several times before and if you travel during the off-season and you are a party of 4, you can do it for much cheaper. Back in 2000 I did 11 days for a total of $900, but I don't think that will happen again. But this hunt was the most I've ever spent .

This is a hunt I have tossed around for the last two years, just need to find the right partner. I know there used to be both a public and private side on the island in terms of hunting. Thanks for the info.

Great trophies! Congrats! My brother is currently stationed over there with the US Army and took a beautiful axis buck a few months ago on Lanai! I got to get over there for a hunt!
