I’m in the same process, have primer, gray, white, and about to spray some matte black tonight.
I’m gonna try skipping the texture for some self adhesive leather on the pistol grip and cheek weld. Not sure how long it’ll last, but a half hearted attempt at a ghetto Clymber.
Well crap. I just painted a stock with this same stuff this winter.I did one stock with this style of paint. Within one season it was completely wearing off.

Textured spray paint is all I use anymore for stocks. Whether it's sprayed on or sponged on. I can find the Rust-o-leum textured paint in any Wal-Mart and most hardware stores. Provides a perfect grip on a hunting rifle, holds up well and looks great.
