Textured Spray Paint on a Rifle Stock

View attachment 370822

I’m in the same process, have primer, gray, white, and about to spray some matte black tonight.

I’m gonna try skipping the texture for some self adhesive leather on the pistol grip and cheek weld. Not sure how long it’ll last, but a half hearted attempt at a ghetto Clymber.

Paint job turned out pretty okay.

I should have taken VG’s advice in post #2 and topped with a clear sealing coat. Paint has rubber off a little in high contact areas.

4.5 years, and about 50 hunts later…

Who's used textured spray paint to customize a rifle stock? I'd love to hear about your specific product used and the end-result (looks, feel, durability). I think I'm going to be painting a carbon stock soon and I'm looking for ideas. Thanks!
New member here. Have you or anyone ever used truck bed coating to give the stock a "textured" rubber type feel, if so, what were the results?

Rustoleum sand texture, OD green Krylon, and matte clear coat on my Tikka .308. Has held up great. The rifle has been in an aftermarket stock as well, but I’m back to the factory stock for now.
